I’d like to thank everyone for the many cards and prayers I received in June for my birthday. Thanks also for the prayers when I was hospitalized recently. Your kindness means the world to me. I greatly appreciate it!
Our church relies on many people to make it a welcoming place for our members and visitors. Thank you to those who serve as greeters and ushers. You are the first people those who enter see, and your smiling face and warm greeting set the tone for their visit.
Those who serve as liturgists and in our choirs are an important part of the worship experience. You help to make the service so enjoyable by sharing your talents with those in the pews. Thank you.
The work of a church cannot be done without the behind-the-scenes people – those who guide by serving on committees. Thank you to everyone who takes the time to attend meetings, help make decisions, and do maintenance work.
To the ladies of the church who help in so many ways….thank you. The service you provide after the death of a loved one with your wonderful lunches mean so much to the families. Thanks to those who help with the rummage sale, quarter auction, beautifying our church grounds, and more.
As the hymn says, “the church is not a building, the church is not a steeple, the church is not a resting place, the church is a people.” We are blessed to have so many caring individuals and families involved in our church including those in the pews receiving the Message. Thank you to each and every one of you!
We held our 11th annual Breast Cancer Salad Luncheon on July 20th in memory of Kathy Anderson and to honor Karen Myers. Thanks to all the ladies that attended and helped us make this another successful year by raising $2,930. A portion of this year’s proceeds will go to Dr. Kay Knight’s charity, Living Truth Living Proof Exhibit.
Thank you to Dr. Knight, from Forever Me Boutique, for your wonderful and informative talk. Thank you to Orion UMC for the use of your facility to host our event. Our event is so successful thanks in part to the wonderful ladies who take care of organizing the meal and working in the kitchen. To the women of OUMC and other churches for their great variety of delicious salads – thank you!
A huge thank you to our sponsors: Office Machine Consultants/Tom Pasmore for their printing services, BankOrion for the table settings, Aaron Tennant for the cookies, Trinity Breast Health Center for the pink bags, The Enchanted Florist for the pretty flowers, and Betsy Catour for taking pictures. We truly appreciate all that everyone does for this event.
With changes again this year, we thank you all for the support and love you have once again shown for this event by coming together wearing pink and supporting a great cause. As Kathy always said, “Live for Today.”
The Cancer Luncheon Committee
To my church family….
Thank you so much for the prayers, visits, cards, phone calls, and food I received. Thank you to Loving Stitches for the lovely plant.
Thank You from the VBS Committee
Thank you to everyone who helped to make this year’s Vacation Bible School a success by donating items and volunteering! The children had a wonderful week learning through crafts, games, and stories. VBS would not be possible without everyone’s help. Thank you!
