Illinois Bicentennial Celebration

Mark your calendars for a day of celebration Saturday, August 4.  The Village of Orion and Main Street Orion are hosting a day-long event at our church.

A quilt show will be held in our sanctuary from 10 am-2 pm.  Quilts are needed for display.  If you have a quilt you would like to show or if you have questions, please contact Sandy Mizen.  She works at the Orion library, and her email is To help people attending the show, please write up a short historic background sheet on your quilt and pin it to your quilt along with your name and phone number.  Sandy will be able to answer any questions you may have about this event.

“Tea with Mrs. Lincoln” will take place in our fellowship hall that afternoon.  Cookie and sandwich makers are needed as well as people who would be willing to use their china to set a table for six for the tea.  Ten people are needed to sign up for table settings.  If you can help or would like more information on the tea, please contact Candice Schultz at
