Prepare Your Hearts for Sunday

Please prepare your hearts for worship this month by praying that God will touch your heart as you search the scriptures and as you participate in worship. As is our tradition, we’ll begin the month of August with Communion on both Sunday, August 4 and Thursday, August 1.

Scriptures for the Sunday, August 4 include Hosea 11:1-11; Psalm 107; Colossians 3:1-11; and Luke 12:13-21.

Sunday, August 11 leads us into the great “Hall of Faith” chapter in Hebrews 11, the first of two Sundays in which we’ll be visiting that chapter. Other scriptures include Isaiah 1:1, 10-20; Psalm 50; and Luke 12:32-40.

Mike and Glenda Mann will be our guests on Sunday, August 18. We’ll also be reading from Isaiah 5:1-7; Psalm 80; Hebrews 11:29–12:2; and Luke 12:49-56.

Rally Day is Sunday, August 25. Scriptures for the day include Jeremiah 1:4-10; Psalm 71; Hebrews 12:18-29 and Luke 13:10-17.

Don’t forget about our community-wide service with Jack Carey at 8 a.m. Sunday, September 1; that will be Fall Festival weekend and we will not be having services in the church on Sunday.

Scriptures for lector/liturgists are in bold.

 I’ll see you in church,

Pastor Dave
